Who we are
Rural Welfare Institute (RWI) is a registered voluntary society based at Hansapada, Nimapada, in Puri district. We work directly with women, children, elders, small farmers, rural artisans and SC/ST/OBC communities — running programs in health, education, livelihoods, environment and disaster preparedness across the state.
To build a sound, effective and meaningful society through organised community effort — putting the poorest and most excluded at the centre of development.
A socio-economic order where the poor and women stand on equal footing with others, guided by sustainable development and empathy for weaker sections.
Communities we work with
Where we work
From village health camps to farmer training and disaster preparedness, our field teams design every program around what each community says it needs most.
Mother & child health camps, TB/HIV awareness, safe drinking water and sanitation campaigns across project villages.
Scholarships, coaching for SC/ST/OBC students, integrated education for disabled children, and a community library.
Self-help group formation, women's empowerment, protection from trafficking and abuse, and skill-building for girls.
SRI & line-transplantation training, farmer producer organisations, and need-based camps for small and marginal farmers.
Mass plantation drives, nursery raising, and coastal & climate-resilience workshops for vulnerable villages.
Folk song and dance festivals that keep Odisha's local traditions and community identity alive.
Awareness on SC/ST protections, RTI workshops, and governance training for Panchayati Raj representatives.
Cyclone-shelter management training, micro-insurance for the rural poor, and financial-inclusion camps.
"RWI is committed to amplifying the voices of the downtrodden. We draw strength from every supporter and well-wisher who continues to motivate our work — and we remain focused on turning that support into real change for rural Odisha's women, youth and children."
